You may not combine bananas with vitamin C, but red bananas will provide about 10 percent of your daily vitamin C intake.

Vitamin C helps:

protect your body from cell and tissue damage,
    Your body absorbs iron well,
Your body makes collagen - a protein that nourishes your skin, bones, and mouth, and
supports brain health by producing serotonin, a hormone that affects our sleep patterns, mood, and experience of stress and pain.

A half-banana will provide about 320 to 400 mg of potassium, which meets about 10% of the potassium required daily.

An average banana will provide about 10-12% of the fiber you need each day. The Singapore Health Promotion Board recommends a 20g diet for women and 26g for men.

Both soluble and non-soluble fiber play an important role in your health. Fiber soluble helps your body control your blood sugar and break down fatty substances like cholesterol. Soluble fiber does not add weight and smoothness to the bowel movements, making it easier for you to move the bowels on a regular basis. It helps keep your gut healthy and free of harmful bacteria.

Bananas, especially fresh fruits, contain starch (drug-resistant starch) in your small intestine and can get into the large intestine. These bananas help you manage your weight well because you are staying longer.
